Members of The Wrotham Historical Society are conducted on a tour of Malling Abbey by Mother Mary David OSB.

   St. Mary’s Abbey was founded as a community of Benedictine nuns by Bishop Gundulf in 1090. After disolution by Henry VIII in 1538 it passed into secular ownership. Restored to its original purpose in the late nineteenth century, it has been the home of the Benedict Sisters since 1916.

   A most memorable visit.
